CDFIs regularly collaborate for comprehensive and long-lasting neighborhood impact.

CDFIs around the state often work together to holistically respond to the complex challenges and opportunities in Ohio’s under-invested neighborhoods.

The 614 for Linden

The 614 for Linden is a collaborative of four CDFIs and numerous nonprofits that seek to implement four of the Big Ideas identified in the City of Columbus’ One Linden Plan.

The CDFIs involved are Ohio Capital Finance Corporation, Affordable Housing Trust of Columbus and Franklin Co., ECDI, and Finance Fund Capital Corporation.

The goal of the initiative, which will run from 2019 to 2022, is to build upon the One Linden Plan’s work to create an equitable, opportunity-rich neighborhood for existing residents of Linden.

The OH3C Collaborative

In 2018, the OH3C (“Ohio 3C”) brought together four CDFIs to deploy targeted capital in 9 neighborhoods within the state’s 3Cs (i.e., Cincinnati, Columbus, and Cleveland). Its members were ECDI, Cincinnati Development Fund, Ohio Capital Finance Corporation, and Village Capital Corporation.

From 2018 to 2021, the OH3C provided lending, technical assistance, and responsive support to borrowers who were located in neighborhoods experiencing rapid market strengthening.

The OH3C financed 16 commercial and mixed-used projects, provided loans on 235 affordable housing units, issued $1M+ in loans to 60 small businesses and entrepreneurs, and increased the capacity of local community development corporations.
