The Ohio CDFI Network works to raise awareness of CDFIs in Ohio, build relationships between CDFI professionals and other potential partners, and connect CDFIs to potential deals.

The Network:

  • Regularly act as a matchmaker connecting appropriate CDFIs with communities and organizations that are ready to do development but need to identify sources of capital.

  • Educate targeted groups on how CDFIs can be a beneficial partner in their work.  So far, this list includes: local banks, foundations, economic development professionals, and community development groups.

  • Conduct strategic outreach to senior level officials within state government agencies to build relationships, increase administrative knowledge of CDFIs, and pursue ways that CDFIs can help achieve agency goals.

  • Facilitate CDFI peer information exchanges through in-person meetings selectively scheduled not to increase burdens on member’s already-busy schedules.

  • Publicize the collective impact of the CDFI industry in Ohio to demonstrate the important role they play in our state.

  • Create marketing materials to educate key groups on what CDFIs in Ohio do and why it matters.

  • Advocate collectively in support of federal appropriations to the CDFI Fund.
